Who can join?
Surf lifesaving is a community based service that provides a wide range of information, training and services. To make a difference and become a surf lifesaving member, you do not have to swim or be an expert swimmer. Surf Lifesaving Association of Wales clubs will train you with basic lifesaving skills. Surf lifesaving also needs coaches, officials and supporters. You don’t even have to get your toes wet, as long as you’ve got a positive attitude about helping others. By joining a surf lifesaving club, it can help build teamwork and communication skills, help keep you fit and learn new lifesaving skills. You can do this whilst performing a vital role to the community in the Summer and having a lot of fun in the process. Through membership to the club, you can train to be a surf lifesaver, beach lifeguard or Community First Responder. We are always looking for new members to volunteer to learn new skills and undertake the following training courses:
You should feel confident and willing to give first aid in your everyday life. By joining a lifesaving club, this is an enjoyable way to learn the lifesaving skills you'll need to help in an emergency. To find out what skills you could learn that could help save a life, visit the St John Ambulance website.
